British billionaire Joe Lewis pleaded guilty to U.S. insider trading charges on Wednesday, and apologized to a judge for his conduct. Lewis, 86, pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to commit securities fraud and two counts of securities fraud, as part of an agreement with the U.S. Attorney's office in Manhattan. Addressing U.S. District Judge Jessica Clarke, Lewis said he knew at the time that what he was doing was wrong. Lewis was charged by federal prosecutors with 16 counts of securities fraud and three counts of conspiracy, for alleged crimes spanning from 2013 to 2021. While Lewis will not plead guilty to the other counts under the terms of his deal, Clarke said she may consider them for sentencing purposes.

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — The more than two-year legal battle over the maps of Ohio Statehouse districts that were crafted in response to the 2020 Census may be over. In a 4-3 ruling late Monday, the Ohio Supreme Court cited unanimous, bipartisan passage in September of a new round of legislative maps in dismissing three long-running lawsuits brought by Democratic and voting-rights groups. The proposal would create a 15-member citizen panel of Republicans, Democrats and independents representing a geographic and demographic cross-section of the state, called the Ohio Citizens Redistricting Commission, to replace the existing Ohio Redistricting Commission. “Only when Ohio bans politicians and lobbyists from rigging maps will voters have fair representation in Congress and the Ohio Statehouse.”

CNN —The indie supergroup boygenius released a charity single on Friday, paying tribute to Sinéad O’Connor, the Irish singer-songwriter who died in July at age 56. Boygenius collaborated with Irish folk duo Ye Vagabonds to produce a cover of the popular folk song “The Parting Glass,” with the proceeds going to the Aisling Project – a Dublin-based charity chosen by O’Connor’s estate, which provides after-school activities, support and meals for disadvantaged children and young people. “We are absolutely thrilled that boygenius have chosen to give proceeds from the release to Aisling Project,” Project Leader Mícheál Clear told CNN. “It’s an absolute privilege to be associated with the stunningly beautiful homage to Sinéad O’Connor and we can’t possibly thank boygenius enough.”Sinéad O'Connor performs in Amsterdam, Netherlands in 1988. The Associated Press (AP) — YouTube is rolling out new rules for AI content, including a requirement that creators reveal whether they've used generative artificial intelligence to make realistic looking videos. In a blog post Tuesday outlining a number of AI-related policy updates, YouTube said creators that don't disclose whether they've used AI tools to make “altered or synthetic” videos face penalties including having their content removed or suspension from the platform's revenue sharing program. Viewers will be alerted to altered videos with labels, including prominent ones on the YouTube video player for sensitive topics. YouTube’s privacy complaint process will be updated to allow requests for the removal of an AI-generated video that simulates an identifiable person, including their face or voice. YouTube music partners such as record labels or distributors will be able to request the takedown of AI-generated music content “that mimics an artist’s unique singing or rapping voice.”
